EurActiv.ro, partenerul din Romania al EurActiv.com, si-a marcat lansarea cu sondajul in randul managerilor de Top.

Brief news:
EurActiv.ro, the Bucharest-based Romanian-language EU policy portal, is marking the launch of its service with the release of a survey report on how Romania's top 100 managers think about the prospects and effects of the country's EU accession.

According to the survey, which was based on a questionnaire filled out by key players in the Romanian business market, 57 per cent of the respondents expect Romania to join the EU as a full member in 2007, while a third believe that 2009 would be a more feasible date. At the same time, however, the overwhelming majority of the respondents believe that Romania will not be economically prepared by either of these dates. Citing excessive bureaucracy and problems in the judiciary system, 80 per cent of the respondents would put Romania's "economic preparedness" to a "much later" date.

Asked to identify the biggest obstacles to Romania's acceptance into the EU, 90 per cent named corruption, 66 per cent pointed to the country's weak economic results and 60 per cent singled out the problems within the judiciary system.

According to EurActiv.ro's Editor Manuela Preoteasa, the site's launch along with the survey results received "exceptionally broad media coverage" in Romania.

EurActiv.ro is published by the Asociata Actori Europeni under a franchising agreement with EurActiv.com. The new Romanian-language EU policy portal forms an integral part of EurActiv.com's CrossLingual network of policy portals, which also includes local-language EU policy-focussed services in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
